Cooking Class Above Beer Street with a Hanoi Market Run
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
HanoiThe people running this have done both jobs for more than a decade: guiding and cooking. That combination is what makes the class work, because the recipes come with the context and the context comes from someone who has explained it a thousand times.
It starts at a market, where the ingredients get chosen and named. Vietnamese cooking runs on herbs and produce with no straightforward equivalent elsewhere, and the market is where that becomes obvious rather than abstract.
Then the kitchen, on the third floor of a building on Hang Buom, next door to the street Hanoi drinks on. Three and a half hours, hands on, and the food culture explained alongside the technique.
A drink comes with the class.
Up to fourteen people, in English. The venue is wheelchair accessible, including the route in. Transport is not included, and any drink after the first is extra.
