One-Hour Pad Thai and Tom Yum Class near Wat Paknam
An hour, two dishes, and the shortest way into a Thai kitchen in this city.
Pad thai and tom yum with shrimp, both made from fresh ingredients, with a local chef working alongside a small group. The technique matters more than the recipe with both: how hot the wok needs to be for the noodles, and the order the aromatics go into the soup. That is what you leave with.
It happens at the Mahanakorn school in Phasi Charoen, a residential district a few minutes from Wat Paknam, which almost nobody visits and which is worth a walk before or after.
Eight people at most, in English. Ingredients, equipment and bottled water are included. Alcohol is not. The school can call a taxi or point you at a Grab pick-up when you finish.
