Two Full Hours at the Stove: Hoi An Eco Tour and Fishing
Four and a half hours, and two of them are spent cooking, which is more than most of the Hoi An classes give you and is the reason to pick this one.
The rest goes on the water. A boat out onto the river with the local fishermen, then the basket boat through the nipa palm forest, the water coconut that has stood there long enough to have watched most of the local history happen, and catching crab, which you will either be good at or not.
The market comes first, with the guide going through the ingredients one at a time so that when they turn up in the pan you know what they are.
Then the restaurant, a greeting drink, and the class itself, where the operator's phrase for the arrangement is that you become a family member for the afternoon. You eat what you cooked.
Morning runs 8:30 to 13:00, afternoon 14:30 to 18:45. Two people minimum, fifteen maximum, in English.
Hotel pick-up and drop-off in Hoi An, tickets for the coconut forest, Vietnamese tea and water, and a life jacket, umbrella and raincoat. Pick-up from Da Nang costs 15 USD per person extra.
