By Bike Through Juarez, Condesa, Roma and Chapultepec
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
Mexico CityFour and a half hours on a bike, which is the right speed for these neighbourhoods: too far apart to walk and too interesting to drive.
Juarez, Condesa and Roma are the three districts everyone means when they say Mexico City has become one of the world's food cities, and the route covers all of them, plus Chapultepec, which is the largest park in Latin America and has a history most visitors miss entirely.
The stops are street markets, tianguis, mercados and the individual stalls in between, with the architecture and street art explained as you go, because in Roma and Condesa the buildings are half the point.
Three things the operator is deliberate about. The route uses bike lanes wherever possible, which in this city matters. There is always a good vegetarian option, chosen rather than improvised. And the vendors are picked partly for how they treat waste and sourcing.
Seven people at most, in English or Spanish, with all the food and drink.
Not recommended if you are pregnant.
Note that this operator's sales are final: there are no refunds for cancellation.
